Sambar Masala

DESCRIPTION :

Our Sambar Masala is an authentic South Indian Masala that people prefer the most for their Sambar delicacies. Our Sambar Masala has now become a regular in most of the Indian households.

Sambhar is a wonder recipe from the South of India and can be aptly described as a 'designer health food'. The various dals, vegatables, spices and condiments that go into a typical Sambhar gives all the nutrients the body needs.

Sambhar can be had with rice as a South Indian does it almost everyday, or with Idlis, Wadas, Potato Wadas etc.

RECIPE :

Step 1
Put Toor dal, 3 cups of water and salt in the pressure cooker and boil it on medium flame. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook on medium heat for up to 3 whistles. Tum off the gas. Reduce the steam and open the lid.
Step 2
After this, add two spoons of oil in a pan and heat it. When oil is heated, add all the vegetables in it and mix it well. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes. After this, add sugar, sambhar masala and cover it.
Step 3
When the vegetables get cooked, add tamarind pulp into it. After this, put pulses into it and cook for 4-5 minutes on medium flame. Tum off the gas. Now preparation of Tadka for the Sambhar.
Step 4
For this, add 1 teaspoon of oil in a pan and heat it. When oil is heated, add mustard seeds, whole dry red chili and curry leaves. Put hot Tadka on the sambar and boil for 5 more minutes and then tum off the flame. Put the coriander over it. The delicious sambhar is ready. Serve with idli, dosa and vada.
